An Interview With The Founder of MatGloCo Ministries

The Marquise stands in a pew in a church caressing a hymnal with gold trim. "If the church had an outreach ministry, he says, more people would feel comfortable spending time in the church. Saints could then attend longer and would probably participate more". Such observations fill the WebMaster’s new book, The Call of the Church: A Walking Tour Through the Crossroads of Our Church Culture. The Marquise is also Minister of Christian Community Online Church, a Southfield Michigan based online ministry.

Why do churches seem so uncool? They were built for a generation of Christians that doesn’t exist anymore – to help them escape from their oppressors, enemies and non-believers. The fact that Christians must now function outside of their normal predictable comfort zones has been a challenge to the church.

How can they be fixed? What we see is church management going from being landlords to being creators of special places. The most interesting innovations have happened online through the Internet. I’ve seen homepages on the Internet that direct you to the location of the nearest church. And on some online churches, the sites have a place to receive anointed sermons weekly or monthly and also links to inspirational scriptures and prayers.
