Our Featured Bible Study - The Book Of Job.

Introductory: STUDYING GOD's WORD

Subject: Job's Fear

Please turn with me to the 42nd chapter of the book of Job in your Bible, and let us read the 12th verse together.

The Lord blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first...{Job 42:12}

After Job had prayed for his friends {Job 42:10}, the Lord made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before.

And what I want you to relate to here is the fact that Job received his blessing after he had prayed for his friends.

When we first encounter Job (Job 1:1}, we find him living in the land of Uz.
According to the scriptures {Job 1: 1,2,3}, Job is blameless and upright, and he feared God and shunned evil. He is blessed with 7 sons and 3 daughters, and he owns 715 sheep, 3000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen and 500 donkeys. Job also had a large number of servants and he was the greatest man among all the people of the east.
However, when Job lost all that he had, including his family and his health, he cursed the day of his birth {Job 3:1}.
And Job makes a startling revelation for someone who had been so overwhelmingly blessed by God.
Job says, "What I feared has come upon me; What I dreaded has happened to me
{Job 3:25 & 26}.

Thus, Job begins to waver in his faith in God. Let's go deeper into Job's plight. Go to the Menu at the left of this page for the next section {Intercede} of our study.
